TEXAS INSTRUMENTS HONORS LONG SERVICE GROUP Instituting a new procedure because of the number of employees to be honored, Texas Instruments Incorporated will celebrate Annual Service Recognition with consecutive dinners on the nights of Monday and Tuesday, March 12th and 13th. The 25-year-old Dallas-based geophysics and electronics firm will honor 126 persons who have recently marked anniversaries totalling 770 years of service. The dinners for the honorees and their families will be in the dining room of the Tl main plant and headquarters office at 6000 Lemmon Avenue. Special service recognition will be given to those who have completed periods of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of service. Texas Instruments will give recognition in various forms, including extra vacation time, special bonuses and service pins. Three persons will be honored for 25 y ears of service - J . Erik Jonsson , Eugene McDermott, and Everett Stanfill. Charles Davis will mark 20 years of service and Charles Mal Bedell, 15 years. Eight persons will reach 10 years.

NEW LIGHTWEIGHT RESISTIVITY SYSTEM ANNOUNCED BY HTL A new Resistivity System has been announced by_Houston Technical Laboratories, providing a fast and economical means of prospecting for mineral deposits and geological structures. The resistivity method is useful in the location of sulfide ores, water, geologic faults, and_other anomalies characterized by abrupt changes in electrical resistance. The method is comparatively old and well known; however, the added range and accuracy of the HTL Resistivity System attaches .new importance to ~ts practical application• . The HTL Resistivity System consists of two separate and distinct instruments, the Signal Generator Bank and the Voltmeter Bank. Although mechanically similar - - each has three panels mounted in identical watertight aluminum cases -- the two function quite differently. The determination of ground resistivity requires the measurement of a length, a current, and a potential.
