NEW TYPE MIRROR COATING ANNOUNC ED A new type of instrument :mirror coating, setting a new standard for durability combined with reflectivity , has been announced by Houston Technical Laboratori es. The alu..minized reflective coat ing is applied through a proprietar y process under evacuation . The resultant reflective coating has a hardness close to that of the harder precious metals and a reflectivity equivalent to pure aluminum in all ranges of the spectrum. 'Even so, it can be applied to all types of industrial mirrors at a cost competitiv e with standard methods. The coating is equally good for first or second surface mirrors, and may be cleaned repeatedly without damage. ;Exhaustive compariso n by all known hardness, abrasion and corrosion tests have proved .it far superior to any other standard coatings.
